Why a rebuild instead of an update
The original QRcode was showing its age under the hood. Rather than keep patching an aging codebase, the app was rewritten from scratch in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose - Android's current, actively maintained toolkit - which means a faster, more reliable app going forward, not just a fresh coat of paint on the same foundation.

A small addition worth knowing about
When you share a generated QR code, the image now includes a small "Made with QRcode" footer by default.
Tip: it's a footer strip added only to the copy that gets shared - your originally saved image is never touched. If you'd rather not include it, turn it off in Settings.

Do I need to do anything to get the update? If you already have QRcode installed, updating through the Play Store gets you the rebuilt version automatically. If you're installing fresh, you're already getting the current one.
