This policy covers the QRcode Android app and this website (technoitic.com), both operated by Technoitic ("we", "us").

Scanning and generating codes

QR code and barcode scanning happens entirely on your device - scanned images and their decoded content are never uploaded to us or any third party. Codes you generate or scan are stored only in the app's local storage on your device, and are deleted if you remove them from your history or uninstall the app.

Camera permission

The app requests camera access solely to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. Camera frames are processed on-device (via Google's ML Kit) and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Advertising and purchases

  • Google AdMob: free-tier use of the app shows ads, which may use the advertising identifier (and, where consent is given, other signals) to personalize ad content. Users in the EU/UK/ California see a consent prompt (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before any personalized ads are shown, and can decline personalization at any time.
  • Google Play Billing: used to process the optional one-time "Pro" purchase, which removes ads and unlocks additional features. Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play - we never see or store payment information.

Permissions

  • Camera - required for scanning.
  • Vibrate - used for optional scan-confirmation haptic feedback.

No location, contacts, microphone, or broad storage permissions are requested. The app writes only to its own private storage, and to your device's Pictures folder only when you explicitly choose to save a generated code.

Children's privacy

QRcode is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

  • Ad personalization can be declined via the in-app consent prompt.
  • All app data can be cleared by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.

This website

technoitic.com does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that identify individual visitors. Fonts and other assets are served directly from this site, not from a third-party CDN.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the app or this website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
