PDF Handy Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2026
This policy covers the PDF Handy Android app, operated by Technoitic ("we", "us").
PDF processing happens entirely on your device
Merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, viewing, password-protecting, and converting between PDFs and images all happen locally on your device. Files you pick are never uploaded to us or any third party - PDF Handy has no account, no server, and no cloud storage of its own.
Generated files (a merged PDF, exported images, and so on) are written to the app's own private storage on your device. They leave the app only when you explicitly choose to Share it (handed to whatever app you pick from Android's share sheet) or Save it (written to a location you choose via Android's own file picker) - PDF Handy itself never uploads a file anywhere as part of normal use.
Camera and Scan Document
Camera access is requested solely for the Scan Document feature, which captures pages and turns them into a PDF using Google's ML Kit Document Scanner - a Google Play Services component that runs on your device. Captured images are processed on-device to produce the PDF; Technoitic does not receive or store them. This component is provided by Google Play Services and is also governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Advertising and purchases
- Google AdMob: free-tier use of the app shows ads, which may use the advertising identifier (and, where consent is given, other signals) to personalize ad content. Users in the EU/UK/ California see a consent prompt (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before any personalized ads are shown, and can decline personalization at any time.
- Google Play Billing: used to process the optional one-time "Pro" purchase, which removes ads and unlocks unlimited use of every tool plus password-protection. Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play - we never see or store payment information.
Permissions
- Camera - required only for the Scan Document feature.
No location, contacts, microphone, or broad storage permissions are requested. Picking existing photos or PDFs goes through Android's own system pickers (Photo Picker / document picker), which don't require a storage permission grant to the app itself.
Children's privacy
PDF Handy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Ad personalization can be declined via the in-app consent prompt.
- All app data can be cleared by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
